Through My Eyes

Like so many of the people who attended, it was really hard to understand the metaphysical structures of the cells and the physics of theology that Deepak was trying to convey. Though many caught the basics, for a few, like myself, it was too complicated and slightly overwhelming.
So I closed my mind to everything around me, deliberated on every word he spoke and tried to digest the concept of his lifelong studies.
Deepak challenges many theories, for instance this is what he says about reality, "If you toss out thousands of years of philosophy, what you're left with is what you see with your own eyes: a world of physical objects."
"These objects" he explains, "Trees, mountains, houses, cats - look real. In everyday life we move through the world on the assumption that the five senses are delivering reality to us." "The fact that this assumption, known as na•ve realism, is completely false, is what modern physics is all about, from Einstein's proof that time and space are relative to quantum mechanics, proof that physical objects are essentially clouds of energy, and this energy emerges from a 'bubbling vacuum'."
Now do you know what I mean? This stuff is deep.
My favourite part of Deepak Chopra's lecture was to do with gratitude. He said that gratitude creates 'abundance consciousness'.
Deepak explained that when you focus on the things that you are grateful for, the source of all those things, that come into your life, will open up to you.
He says that gratitude disconnects the self from the ego, which is a nice way of getting in touch with your spirit.
Deepak believes that you cannot have an ego, identity and feel grateful at the same time.
He says that the highest level of gratitude is the gratitude for existence itself. When you say, "Thank you for making me just as I am," and that is enough for you, you reach the highest level of gratitude.
Deepak says that it took approximately 14 billion years to create you and me and he believes we are all made out of stardust.
Here is where I loose the plot. Don't get me wrong I love the idea that I am made of stardust but I do not wholeheartedly believe it.
He says that by recognising the source of your identity, that you are a stardust luminous being that has become self aware, because the universe wanted to become self aware through your nervous system, this is the highest form of gratitude. Not only being grateful for what you have but also for who you are.
As ridiculous and fantastical as some things may seem, neither you nor I nor any other human being knows what possibilities this universe holds.
I for one need to check into Deepak's Mind Spa because after his talk I discovered some costly cobwebs stashed in my mind's attic.
Let me know what you thought of Deepak's talk and have a fabulous week all you 'stardust fantagosmical' beings out there.
