Whats The Issue

Whats The Issue

Date: 2014-11-14
Ah what a lovely country we live in. Our members of parliament are so relaxed, we can only hope that this filters though to our lives, the way they walk in and out of parliamentary sessions, dress in overalls if they wish to make a scene and even flip the bird at each other when they are not happy with each other.

The ANC dancing on the DA's proposal, which it dumped on the floor in Parliament, the list of behavioural deviances goes on and on. I'm not sure that this is what makes living in this country so amazing but it must be affecting it in some way. But it can't be as much fun as it is to live in Zimbabwe, just look at what a jol they are having there. Bob is away visiting Zambia to pay his respects to the deceased Sata, and while he is away, his potential Vice President Joice Mujuru has come under a scathing attack from Bob's wife.

Hellfire and brimstone are raining down as Grace pulls no punches in smearing Joice, in an obvious attempt to prevent her from becoming the logical successor to Bob, should he ever abdicate. WHAT? What did I just say? Abdicate? What am I thinking? Wrong continent. We don't do that on this continent, we just hold onto power, regardless of how much it destroys the country or its economy, until the day we die or are assassinated. Isn't that how we do it over here? Handing over power is absurd. After all it is the leader's power is it not? I once thought that the power belonged to the people, but watching the leaders of this continent I have come to realise that that concept is not overly subscribed to over here.

I prefer the power to belong to the people and that the leader is given control of that power through the voting process and he is supposed to use that power for the good of the people. Oh what the heck, what am I talking about? Mary had a little lamb. On the bigger issues I am now hearing the rattling of swords as the propaganda language is starting to leak into the western news reporter's dialog.

Russian threat is trending amongst the western news stations. NATO expressed concerns over the size of Russia's army, hello Russia is part of NATO, however NATO's supreme commander, old Philip Breedlove, is breeding hate with his vocalising a scaremongering tactic under the banner of a "Russian Threat". NATO could have stopped the Ukrainian war with the slightest diplomatic intervention, but the obvious objective of securing an American missile base 150km from the Russian Capitol seems to be more the agenda of choice.

In the meantime Russia has signed a deal with Iran to produce 8 nuclear power units and the APEC summit looks like it might just break America's stronghold on China's ability to enter that market. Russia is waiting in the wings for just such a deal. Interesting times indeed.
