What's the issue?

What's the issue?

What the EFF is happening? Despite Kenni Kunene starting his own political party, Julius Malema being touted as the next best thing to happen to South African politics and the elections looming like a dreaded storm, I am still hopeful. I'm hopeful that the ANC's majority, which is said to be at the risk of falling below 60% during these elections, does not send us into a downward spiral of political intolerance.

I hope that the seeds of division that are being sown do in fact divide us as a nation. Lets be honest, it would not take much to do, we're already so divides as it is. Then maybe somebody will come along and rule. Because what we have going on is not rule. There is no rule of law, not even a rule of thumb.

However I remain hopeful, hoping against hope that amongst the rag tag motley crew one person will find the good sense to behave like the leaders who got us to this point. Albert, Nelson, Oliver, any one of these might just come back from the beyond and possess one of our party leaders and force them to just do the right thing.

I'm also hopeful that we will see just how lucky we are that we aren't in the same boat as Sudan, although theirs is probably pirated, and that we are not on the same path as the CAR, although no car could possible drive down that path. Egypt is still struggling to free itself from manipulation and clandestine political agendas and as for Syria, well even in the face of a travesty of this immense magnitude, there is still hope.

There is also still hope for the people's Spy, Snowden, and then only if the American's don't get hold of him because it looks like they have been sending him death threats, serious enough for him to seek protection form the Ruassian Police. I hope he gets away with it and sends us some more embarrassing stories of how our leadership has been shafting us.

There is also hope that the ruling party, the ANC, are guided by the hand of God when they select who goes to parliament and who does not. We really need a strong representation to pull us out of the nosedive we're in.

Then I hope that I can stick to my new years resolutions, that would be awesome, but not as awesome as it would be if the unions relinquished their stranglehold on our economy in their efforts to sway the political landscape in the direction they so desire.

Then there is still more hope, like hoping that more people take the initiative like the Barman who tried to place Tony Blair under citizen's arrest for his part in the war crimes in Iraq.

I also hope we all have a fantastic new year and achieve our spiritual goals, whatever they are.
