Anyway, I can't figure out whether the no confidence vote, brought against Jacob Zuma by eight political parties in parliament recently, was justified political action that just took too long to be brought about, or just plain irresponsible political posturing and headline grabbing antics.
I must say that although I don't have a political position of my own, the state of the nation as I see it does not fit into the state of the nation address as presented by Mr. Zuma.
If you like I can justify my viewpoint with statistics on corruption levels since his inception as President, I can quote levels of misappropriation of funds under his leadership, I can spew out a whole plethora of shortcomings our government is guilty of under his leadership.
One bone of contention I would raise, if you asked me to, would be the appalling state of affairs where public servants in political positions are also directors and members of companies that are doing business with the very departments that these political public servants are heading up. If that is not totally corrupt then I must ask . What the hell is This situation is completely untenable, indefensible, unsustainable, unsound, and flawed, defective, inexcusable, intolerable, defective, unjustifiable, unforgivable and there are a whole list of terms I could add to this condition.
When Jacob announced his war on corruption, the least I expected from his government was to eradicate councillors and public servants from doing business with their own companies through their own departments. Never mind the tender process and its quagmire of cesspools and decrepit dealings. Iron out the small wrinkles as well as the big folds.
Dream on big guy. When the allegations of Minister Lindiwe Sisulu's exorbitant Gulfstream jet setting expenses, of around ten million Rand a year, cost to the tax payer, burst onto the black and white pages of newsprint, and Jacob Zuma's resounding words of war on corruption are still echoing about the country, what is the extended belly of the kwashiorkor suffering pikanini supposed to feel How do we dry the tears of shame that a mother feels when she cries herself to sleep after not being able to feed her children Order up another Gulfstream jet to flit about the country why don't you Mr or Mrs Politician The only glimmer of hope is a continued fiscal growth on the African continent, somethinh I hope South Africa can become a part of, if not its driving force.
In any event the rest of the world is in turmoil as Israel starts shelling Syria. Ouch. We must all pray that that situation does not get out of hand, regardless of which sect you belong to.
