Armistice Day and the poppies were fluttering in the wind, jerking tears of pride and joy and lost love and suffering, a great human suffering, a suffering we seem to be striving towards again even in the face of the grotesque memory of how war has ravaged the world.

While the Queen shed a tear and a few more poppies, Macron was ferreting ahead with plans for an army of his own, or er, one he could maybe share with Germany. Or would Germany be sharing it with him Never can tell with Germany.

In any event, Donald would have us believe that he is doing everything in his power to prevent Iran from making nuclear weapons. He thinks this is preventing a war. His logic is to apply debilitating sanctions on the country until they crack and sing a new agreement. Donald tore up probably the best nuclear deal the world has ever managed to almost complete, until he pulled the plug. The UN Nuclear agency verified that Iran had met their part of the bargain, but that didn't stop Donald.

Well I'm glad our president doesn't have inclinations towards world dominance. Maybe now that his headache in the form of Malusi Gigagaba resigning before he was fired, falling on his sword, as some have said, is alleviated, he might take up some ambitions. Maimane is working at keeping him at bay now calling for the contract between Cyril's son and Bosasa, a firm that is not unfamiliar with outgoing dick swinger Gigaba. Apparently it has been eluded that Ramaphosa junior is a consultant.

News that the SABC might not be able to pay full salaries by February with total fiscal collapse predicted by March, our public broadcaster is following in the footsteps of our national carrier.

"Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive," that was Walter Scott's bit of wisdom. The web seems to be tightening and hopefully it will catch all the rogues before it is too late.

But then there is very little chance of that with the latest outcome and utterances from the Integrity Committee. As one with anything more that an standard three pass would be able to have predicted, the ANC's integrity committee came out and said that it can't and it won't compel the ruling party to take action against any members that have been "implicated in wrongdoing". Not very reassuring that comment, not at all. Another sad day for justice in our country.

Still we get to be entertained by shameful scenes of barbaric behaviour in the one house that decorum is supposed to reign. The recent violence and divisive behaviour from our house of parliament is shamefacedly hilarious. Watch it with the sound off and some high tempo Vivaldi violin concerto as the sound track and if you don't start laughing then you know you need a check-up at the local clinic.

What we do know is that none of us are free, we are all captives of the oppressive element of Government, we need a new system.
