What is the issue

The festering mess that is the management of our national broadcaster has now been exposed beyond a reasonable doubt for the whole world to see. I stopped listening to the soul crushing deluge of dirt when allegations started surfacing that the SABC used its own money, thet being our money, to finance and set up the Gupta's TV channel ANN7 TV. I did not follow through and find out if this allegation was factual or just more mud slinging, it was enough for me that the accusation had been made. Now Mbulaheni Maguvhe has resigned from his position as the chairman of the board, perhaps he felt the same way I did.

So suppressing a surge of bile I flipped channels or pages or smart phone apps or whatever it was I was gathering the information on, only to stumble on the spat between our beloved ex public protector, Thuli Madonsela, and our new PP Busisiwe Mkhwebane. The venomous attack on her Chief of Staff Bonginkosi Dhlamini, who was summarily dismissed by Busisiwe, urgh argh aaah, I had to flip pages again. It was all too much for my tiny little mind.

Lo and behold I should stumble on a report where DA Chief Whip John Steenhuisen is berating the secretary to Parliament, the illustrious Gengezi Mgidlana, for behaving like a rock star, being chauffeured around the world and Gauteng in expensive Mercedes-Benzes, staying in top end luxury hotels, like the Conrad London St James Hotel at fourteen thousand Rand a night. My gag reflexes were now being seriously challenged.

The report about the nineteen and a half Billion Dollars of gold that has gone missing from South African coffers, that is R272 Billion worth, had me running for the little room with the big white water chair.

After a lengthy search for George, Ralf, Hughie and Harold, I felt brave enough to face the international pages. Can you imagine what was waiting for me there British cluster bombs being used in Saudi Arabia's war on Yemen, ninety two year old Bob Mugabe announcing that he will stand in the next election in Zimbabwe, and the laughable accusations that Putin and his tech savvy IT guys hacked the US elections to help Trump win.

The West's refusal to admit defeat in Allepo sickened me so that I was reaching for my phone and searching amongst my list of contacts for the doctor's number. Dino was probably holidaying with his family and Meyer could have been locked up in his studio producing yet another masterpiece. So I turned to the one thing that is pertinent at this time of year. I bowed my head in prayer and instead of asking for more than I have already been blessed with, I gave thanks and praise to the one, the real number One, and I professed my faith in Him, that it will all work out in the new year, that 2017 will be a year of reconciliation, a year where we move closer to world peace and to generating love and harmony amongst our fellow man. I believe.
