What is the issue

What is the issue

I'm still standing here with my mouth gaping open, the saliva drippling down my chin, my amazement paralyzed my facial expression in a grimace of total disbelief and utter exasperation. Are we really going to roll over and play dead? Are we as a nation honestly going to accept the slap-in-the-face apology that is now expected to wipe the slate clean and let bygones be bygones?

A primeval scream is still mustering at the bottom of my lungs, I just can't believe that Mr Teflon has done it again. I was sure that the much respected elders would have to say that the ruling of our constitutional court against Jacob Zuma would mean that he has been declared by the legal system to be unfit for office. It is a logical progression is it not?

So in my brittle imagination I see the big fat dripping tar brush, that painted Jacob with his accusation and now confirmation of his transgressions, sloshing across the ruling parties very own face as they internalize and become one with Jacob's corruption. By refusing to replace him, they are sure to be tainted by his actions, and accusations of collusion are surely now inevitable.

Just as we are raising our heads out of the huge pile of poop that our political landscape seems to be becoming, the Panama Papers break into the limelight our president is enjoying. And lo and behold but who is named in the leak. None other than Clive Khulubuse Zuma, Jacob's nephew. Read more about it at the link that follows.

Needless to say we are not the only country in the world whose leaders are sucking dry. It seems to be a worldwide problem. The Prime Minister of Iceland, Sigmundur David Gunnlaugsson, has apparently had the sense of self to resign. The leaders and other mega wealthy individuals are being implicated in money laundering and tax evasion on a scale so grand it makes my eyes water. This leak is bigger than Wikileaks and the Snowden files put together. It illustrates despicable behavior on a scale so grand I want to cry.

So on the one hand we have our high and mighty leaders spending more money on a fabricated armed struggle, civil war, that the entire worlds monetary needs. So much money we could eradicate poverty twice over, build a house for every family without one, save every struggling economy, fly twice around the moon and still have enough change to feed the population of our planet four times over. As is this is not enough they then embezzle so much money it would make me faint just to look upon it, some just so as to prevent paying a miserable share in tax and others, well I can't imagine why they would want to steal money on such a scale.

I have to ask why our president is making apologies about fraud and corruption and not making speeches about the latest findings in the medical field. Stunning discoveries about how our brains are directly connected to our immune systems by a network of vessels that have never been discovered before today. That is what he should be making speeches about.
