Through my eyes

Through my eyes

So it's here the day we are all suppose to be in love, show our love, buy expensive gifts and lavish our loved one. For many the thin veneer of a material expression of love can bring confusion, mixed messages, and if ever rejected, then suffering where joy was intended.

It has been a few years since I ceased to pretend that I believe in the whole conspiracy, the illusion, I am not buying it and thank God my husband has been pretty keen to cut the charade as well.

Love is a funny thing, for many people the importance of this practice is more for for show, "Oh, look, he loves me, he brought me roses." "Oh, look what an amazing person my sweetheart is, look at my Facebook post."

I admit that maybe ten years ago it was so nice to get a reminder that we have so much to be grateful for, and Valentine's Day was a great reminder.

Sometimes I think that we wait until we accomplish something, or we are busy working on many things and think, once I get this done or accomplish that thing, then I will celebrate.

We seem to rarely get around to appreciating what we did, or the family and friends that we have, or appreciate the work that we have and the co-workers we work with every day. I seems we have to wait for that day to express ourselves. That moment, encouraged.

Celebration and the practice of gratitude go hand in hand. A part of the blessing of overcoming so many challenges in life is that we must take nothing for granted. Everything is a gift - everyday is Valentine's Day.

With every step I take I am grateful for the love I have in my life and every time I accomplished a milestone - I celebrate.

The time doesn't really matter, Valentine's Day, Secretary's Day, Boss' Day Mother's Day - just being able to celebrate the wonderful people in my life everyday is a glorious celebration - and what a fabulous metaphor for life.

Showing up, doing everything with heart, and celebrating every step along the way with gratitude, is priceless. We are all creatures of habit, lets make love a habit we display everyday, for every living being in our lives.

I believe it and I live it!

Life is a celebration today and for always. Find anything however small it might be, that brings you love, peace, laughter, happiness and reflection.

Embrace life now and Love! Love! Love! Everyday
