Re: An Uber Overview

After reading at article in one our local community newspapers about how two Uber drivers were amongst those caught at a roadblock for driving under the influence,ĘI decided to do some research into UberĘgiven that thousands of people very unwittingly place their lives in the hands of these Uber drivers. I then went onto the site Hellopeter.com andĘsearched for complaints against Uber and I was amazed that there was a litany of complaints. On further googling how does one enlist your services as a Uber driver I discovered to my astonishment that there are basically three steps - in essence if you have a car of your own and you have a drivers licence its as simple as A B C. I also recall some horrifying stories covered by Carte Blanche on Uber and I believe that given the uncertainties associated with Uber it would be wise for those who rely on this service to do the research just so as to be forewarned. On the flip side on this is that South Africa has a reliable taxi service which is pretty well regulated and if one has a problem one has recourse but with Uber as you will note from the ÔHello PeterŐ site it would appear that you are on your own if you have a problem. My advice is based following the old adage " don't be penny-wise and pound foolish."
