What's the issue?

What's the issue?

One third of our nation's employable people are unemployed, at least those are the official figures. I don't trust. I feel as though the figure is more like 49.9% and not 29%. Our divided ruling party continues to weaken as the weight of a crumbling Eskom drags its head under water, threatening to drag our economy and our entire nation under with it. Indecision and infighting the order of the day. The so-called "fightback" group in the ANC, which is intent on removing Ramaphosa from power in the ANC's national general council next year. That might get rid of the "spies" and maybe remove some of the so-called allegations of corruption against some of the leaders we hold so high. Take example from our MEC for Arts and Culture, Sport and Recreation, the Honorable Hlengiwe Mavimbela, she would have us beat our kids into submission, despite the fact that it is against the law and against her political parties policy, beat them anyway I suppose.

A little good news in the success of Pravin Ghordan's interdict against our public protector (not), where Mkhwebane has recommended action against Pravin, even directing the National Prosecuting Authority to take legal action against him and getting the Speaker of Parliament to refer him to the ethics committee. Maybe if Pravin is out the way, Cyril is weekend and exposed. Things are so bad with the Public Prosecutor that there is a petition going around to try and remove her from office. Shakespeare could not have written a plot like this, it's worse than Day's of Our Lives.

Talking of plots, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani trolled Donald Dump using phrases that seemed to parallel paraphrases by the orange guy with the bad hair saying, "Peace with Iran is the mother of all peace; war with Iran is the mother of all wars." And referring to the tit for tat goings on with oil tanker seizures he said "A strait for a strait. It can't be that the Strait of Hormuz is free for you and the Strait of Gibraltar in not free for us." This all sounds fair and logical but then were talking about Trump and US international policy.

But besides the on-going mass shootings in America, the real assassination going on is a cold-blooded annihilation of logic and decorum in the trade war between China and the US. After America suffered the biggest loss in US Stocks in a whole year, the US treasury came out and labelled China or Beijing a 'currency manipulator". This sent Beijing into a roaring rage rebutting the US's remarks. The markets went into turmoil and it looks like they will keep going that way with the current trend in trade wars.

In the meantime the "Little Rocket Man" is sending off his fireworks into the Korean sky with impunity and besides the fact that our planet should be on an endangered planet list, we all seem to be merrily spinning towards extinction with huge grins on our ugly mugs.
