What is the issue

What is the issue

While the world reels from the fire in the Notre Dame Cathedral, we can see how disparities of our sentiments are laid bare. Rumours of six hundred million Euro in donations to rebuild the cathedral have already surfaced.

Meanwhile even the stalwarts of the ANC were moved to make public utterances about the absurd and outrageous racist comments from our very own superstar gangster, now referred to as Ace. His comments, about wasting votes on "umlungu", lay bare his thinking and confirms all the suspicions you may have had about him.

As if that wasn't enough, he made a show of giving a potential voter four hundred Rand for food. What could he have been thinking, or does our Superstar Gangster not understand the issue of "vote buying". Maybe he is just so blasÈ that he doesn't care what any voters think, as long as they vote for him.

Ace's pal Jacob is crying that his life is now in danger after The Times reported that he had stashed Gadhafi's billions or was it trillions, rumours of pallets laden with gold bullion abound. And was it Swaziland or Switzerland that the hoard was sent off to I really must find out. Anyway it must be a good time to be a lawyer in South Africa now because Jacob is threatening to sue, as is Ace. I chose the wrong career.

Then the DA is bleeeeeting that the ANC is resorting to anarchy and arson, stirring up civil unrest and protests in all the 'well run' DA areas. Sneaky. Then with the nuts and bolts of running a country, the Phokwane Municipality mayor Sentse Kalman is refusing to resign as Mayor, even after having been instructed to do so from on high. She's not going, no way HosÈ. The municipality is in total disarray, with the speaker from the same council also expelled and also refusing to leave. Oh the audacity, the cheek of it. You gotta love it. And there's another member also refusing to go, meanwhile the people have been left with no water for months while they squabble over the feeding trough.

Here in Durban we have a little cheek of our own, check out the little music show that eThekwini municipality are reported to be arranging with Jacob. After trying to get a CD out of him, where he would have benefitted from an eye-popping amount of cash, this was vetoed, a new scheme has been hatched to get him to document Struggle songs and a healthy R200 000 budget has been allocated to Jacob for this task. In what must have been a pull on the other leg, the organiser, same guy for both ideas, Thembinkosi Ngcobo, allegedly even cited Jan van Riebeck as part of his reasoning for this expense. I can't make this stuff up, I could cry with laughter.

Anyway Pietermaritzburg municipality has collapsed, it will probably be put under administration. The term that Jeff Radebe used was "shocking". More shocking are the numbers of people fleeing the country. Cyril wants the young white people to stay, he would tie them to a tree to keep them here. Statistics show that theaverage number of black professionals leaving the country exceeds the number of white South Africans leaving. So it's not a race thing, our country is draining fast of all its potential. While the thieves carry on regardless, as if nothing ever happened.
