Ahhh it is so wonderful living in South Africa. We are such good citizens, we all stick our heads in the sand like ostriches and pretend the wholesale theft of our country isn't really happening.
Much like Donald Dump tweeting a new madness every day, a distraction from the real issues that are slowly being dismantled in American politics. Civil liberties are being stripped bare as nuclear war, global warming, poverty and job and food security are all slowly tightening their strangle hold on the throats of the lower class. While the Dump Circus keeps everybody jumping from one insanity to the next, very few are paying attention to what's actually happening to the legislature in good old USA.
We have a similar problem here in SA. We have all been lulled into some kind of trans like zombie state while Cyril tours the country telling everyone that, (as Bob Marley put it), everything is going to be alright. Well I'm not buying it. The pillage and plunder is carrying on wholesale if not even worse than when Jacob was number 1.
The revelation about VBS Bank's one point five billion Rand disappearing act along with the "gifts" meant for the Venda King. No surprise that Jacob Zuma loaned seven point eight million from VBS Bank to repay his Nkandla debt but what is a revelation is that the majority shareholder of the bank did not pay a brass farthing for his shares. Amazing! I want to land a deal like that. Twelve million Rand helicopters, twenty nine million Rand apartment in Clifton. Eish! And then you read about the Tree Schools, where there are no walls, just the shade of a tree. Haibo! Then when you read that poor municipalities deposited funds into the bank and they simply can't account for around nine hundred million Rand, the sweat glands on my forehead just start leaking.
Just like the American public we are being distracted with things like Land Expropriation without compensation and the like. Meanwhile there is something huge, something sinister happening. I don't know what it is but I can smell it, like the decaying corpse of a body that was not disposed of properly.
Despite so much effort the Russian world cup soccer tournament is going off without a hitch and is proving to be very successful. The spoilers who tried to crash it down failed, however it is just another distraction to what is really happening in our world today. Immigration centres have become easy targets for sexual predators where the weak are even more vulnerable that ever before and now the sexual harassment cases are soaring by up to six hundred per cent. Oxfam fell fowl of the same issue, what is wrong with this world.
Really close to home and the Ballito Pro competition has proven to be part of the problem with female contestants prize money being half as much as their male counterparts in a blatant display of gender discrimination. This ingrained behaviour has to change. Peace and love everybody.
