Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes

Date: 2014-09-12
When my friend Thomas arrived on my doorstep last week beaming from ear to ear, I knew something amazing had happened to him it has been a good year for the Nicolson family.

Their beautiful daughter, Yazmine, tied the knot with her sweetheart in a gorgeous idyllic setting in Mauritius. The younger daughter, Jamaica, is globetrotting with Emirates Airlines and his wife Debbie is as beautiful as ever and thriving.

On that particular Wednesday afternoon Thomas was looking like a million Dollars. Suited and dandy, he just announced that he received his visa to travel to the USA, where he lived for many years before he settled in South Africa. And he was leaving in a few weeks for a business convention.

I looked at my friend and felt such genuine pride suddenly it dawned on me that his success was really important to me. Seeing Thomas' happiness - was a pleasure for me too. His positive energy lit up my home as he recalled the interview he had at the American embassy.

That evening sitting with my husband I told him about how Thomas' good vibes were such a happy revelation for me. Seeing our friends thrive and prosper is a triumph for us. I realised how important it was for our community to support each other.

My friends' success, is just more affirmation that when one door closes, another one opens...if you believe in something, you can achieve it...it gives me hope for my own future.

It was a reminder not to be afraid to experience all of it and to remember to share our experiences with others! An inspiration not to forget to live life fully and wholeheartedly!

It is important to celebrate the successes of our friends, to be happy for them, to realize that their success, or anyone's, doesn't take away from us. There is plenty to go around.

That evening sitting in a quite corner, I remembered words from Wayne Dyer, "You cannot get sick enough to make one person well, you cannot be poor enough to make one person rich"...... I believe that a rising tide lifts all the ships. Rise on my friends and we will surely rise with you!

Remember! Life is about change and growth and staying in the flow, which requires expansion.

"When you ask for happiness and a beautiful life, ask not just for you, but for everyone. When you ask for something better, ask not just for you, but for everyone. By all means ask for abundance and health for you, but also ask for it to be given to everyone. Can you imagine what would happen if six billion people asked for these things for you?"
