Oh, you think that is a little too harsh do you, then you were more than likely never a victim of violent crime. I say if America can use torture then why not our detention services.
Well we have one billion rising and even that does not seem to be ebbing the flow of rancid human behaviour. To live in a society, where only some of the people respect the status quo, needs a hide like a rhino. Oops, did I say rhino sorry, bad example, change it for something more suitable.
Talking about change, the political landscape in South Africa has just received a welcome change as the former Managing Director of the World Bank announced her intentions to contest the 2014 elections. Going head to head with Zuma on a bill of anti corruption, Mamphela Ramphele was a co-founder of the Black Consciousness Movement along with Steve Biko, with whom she has two children. It was no ground shaking wonder that the ANC came out guns blazing with dismissive comments and banal subversion and even less so that the Democratic Alliance welcomed Ramphele's announcement and look forward to working with her in making South Africa an even better country than it already is. Read between those lines why don't you. Ramphele's new political party is to be called 'Agang', whne looked at from a Eurocentric English perspective it can be interpreted as; A gang. As long as the gang is working towards a better future for all, I am in support of it. As its original SeSotho word, it means "Let's build". Mamphela Ramphele's new party adds hope to our future and I think a woman president can only improve on the male we have.
