The concept of dining will never be the same again as we followed the footsteps of adventurer Marco Polo and experienced a meal of gastronomical proportions. We were served by a team of perfectly stylised servers, dressed in the costumes of the region from which our next course came from.

Dinner Time Stories is a new concept for South Africa and first for KZN. A new and entirely innovative two-hour dining concept based around the culinary exploits of Le Petit Chef, following the route of Marco Polo.

Using cutting edge 3D visual technology and effective storytelling through flavours, ingredients, sights, sounds and tastes, we were transported on a magical journey.

The show's six-course menu takes the diner along a unique culinary journey across the regions visited by legendary traveller on the silk route.

The mood, table platters, props and decorations all change with each course, and the chapters of the story immerse the diner into one continuous 3D projected tale.

We loved this novel concept, a refreshing way of taking in the different cultural foods from the spice route, in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. The wine-pairing element of the journey was excellent with exotic and very unique wines accompanying each course.

This was a truly amazing sensory experience complete with incense from India, camels and hookah from Arabia, the ice from the Himalaya's and fireworks from China to name a few elements.

The food was nothing short of a culinary extravaganza, the presentation being a work of art, the Le Petite Chef described each course with vivid images of adventures and far away places.

Dinner Time Stories is a truly remarkable, perfectly put together, theatrical event. The show was fantastic, the service impeccable and the food absolutely delicious!

This is something you must not miss. It is an experience of a lifetime. We met fabulous new people at our table and if I could, I would have taken the little chef home - his cooking was that good. Arrive hungry - there is a lot of food to taste.
