What is the issue

What is the issue

Everybody must be sighing a long drawn out sigh of relief that the soccer team and their coach have finally been rescued from the cave in Thailand, such a pity about the loss of one of the volunteer divers who miscalculated his oxygen supply and died trying to save the boys. He will forever be a hero.

Well we here in good old SA are also drowning, only we are drowning in very sticky brown stuff that is spewing from the mouths of our leadership. One such leader is Julius, who really showed his true colours at a recent press conference. Max du Preez put it very well when he said recently "The EFF leadership clearly has no respect for free speech and a free media.

Politically they may be light years apart, but Malema and Donald Trump sound more and more alike: vicious attacks on the media, the telling of blatant lies and half-truths and getting nasty and personal with those who dare criticise them."

This is the kind of leadership we could well do without. And leadership is no easy task, ask Theresa May and she will tell you. Boris the clown Johnson dropped a bombshell on the British Prime Minister when he resigned soon after the Brexit secretary David Davis resigned plunging Theresa's government into a crisis. He could not have timed it better with the imminent arrival of US President Donald Dump, the amazing performance of the three lions in the world cup, and then the unfortunate death of Dawn Sturgess from the poison thought to be Novichok.

Now Theresa went all out and blamed the Russians without a shred of evidence, still not a single piece of evidence has been offered by the British government and the Russians continue to offer their help in solving the problem, only to be repeatedly denied such a privilege. In any event her time might be up this month.

Another leadership blunder that seems to be being exposed is the trade war that Donald started with his aluminum and steel tariffs. This is backfiring on him in such a bad way with China signing a twenty billion Euro trade deal with Germany. That Angela chick is feisty to say the least.

Donald Tusk told Donald Trump/Dump to respect his allies a little more than he is of late, mainly because he doesn't have that many allies left.

Back home and our health is under attack. With the collapse of the public health system, albeit denied by many loose lipped politicians, and the introduction or should I say implementation of the long awaited National Health Insurance Bill, of which we are already in the second phase of three, many people are wondering what, how, when, and who will pay for it all.

In this second phase we will develop the legislation and establish the funding. Now I am no minister of finance but with the Road Accident Fund pushing our petrol price through the roof and the tax base straining to the maximum, I have to ask, where will the money come from for this service By the way you have no say, you have to participate and the way it looks from here the medical and health industry are not geared to handle it. Here we go.
