The way we search for and view properties, has changed dramatically over the past few years. Traditionally newspaper advertising and Sunday Show Days was the way you would look for properties for sale and gauge what was available in any given market. With the popularity of gated communities, especially along the Dolphin Coast, viewings are strictly by appointment and the property pages in your Sunday newspaper are no longer representative of what is available for sale across many markets.
The 5 marketing trends starting to define our industry and the way we present our property offerings are:
1. Video Marketing and Live Streaming. This certainly assumes a connected environment and although we are way behind the curve in South Africa and along the Dolphin Coast in particular, the technicians are laying the fibre-optic cabling as we speak within many of our gated estates and suburbs. Still photography is being replaced by video footage and social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
2. Content marketing. This is providing relevant and informative information to specific people who have specific interests and requirements
3. Personalization. Making your marketing offering personal to the key demographic you are servicing is becoming increasingly important and expected.
4. Digital Showings. The future is now a reality, in fact virtual reality. Local developers have started to experiment with this for large-scale developments providing their clients with an incredible opportunity to understand interiors and views from multiple angles and at multiple elevations.
5. Social media advertising. Google ad-words or boosting posts on Facebook are excellent ways to extend the reach for very specific campaigns or products and measurable in a way that traditional marketing channels could only dream of.
