I'm trying to remain impartial here but there are some real delinquents that are making it absolutely impossible and it's freaking me out!
There are those financial experts walking amongst us that think the Rand is recovering, but it is just the Dollar dropping like a stone, maybe because the rumour that Putin wants to pull the Russian Rubel out of the Dollar and go back to the gold standard, in what is being coined as 'de-dollarization'.
Musings of financial movements include the comments that all BRICS countries are preparing to dump the Dollar and take on either Gold or another form of currency evaluation. That would be far more complicated than I can imagine. However the boys with blinkers on still want to point and jeer while one of South Africa's corporate food giants pulled the plug on a massive deal that would have created this continent's largest consumer goods company, citing our junk status and obvious rampant corruption. So there goes that opportunity.
Finally Cyril Ramaphosa showed some signs of maybe putting in a bid to stop the stripping bare of our country in what was a well-received speech at Chris Hani's SACP memorial. However he will have to do a lot more than just make a few snide remarks about number 1 and his adopted family, time is of the essence if we are to save our countries wealth, that is if it is not already too late.
I can see a new New South Africa with Mmusi Maimane as President and Julius Malema as Deputy President. Maybe then Julius will se the merits of constitutional land reforms where the title deeds are given to the farmer or the farm community working the farm and not to some Presidential buddy who has no interest in farming at all. If the ANC doesn't get rid of their 'commander-in-thief', as he has been referred to by so many now, they risk losing almost everything.
Rumours of Cyril being on a hit list abound and I would not put it past the Deep State to resort to that level of depravity to maintain their stranglehold on our country's government, just long enough to get those central reserve bank doors swinging open wide enough to allow the trolleys full of gold and cash to pass through. Once the money is gone, they won't care who is the new Number One. "If we continue in the way that we are, I promise you, that support is going to continue going down, and the ANC could lose power," said Cyril.
And so as I always say, it's only money, we made it, we can make some more. We have so many really poor people in South Africa, people who are willing to work for very low wages, so we can always ride the poor even harder than we already have and make some more money to fill the state coffers. Our problems aren't quite as bad as our European friends' problems.
For instance just look at the American nuclear submarine docking in a port in South Korea while Kim Jong-Un flexed his military muscles, testing his long range missiles in celebration of the Korean People's Army 85th anniversary. Now that is scary stuff.
It is amazing how quickly Donald Trump was captured by the American war machine, his dialog doing a 180 degree reverse twist. Donald baby has called for a complete senate meeting this Wednesday to discuss North Korea. It is total madness, this crazy buffoon will ignite a nuclear war if somebody doesn't give him the hiding he obviously never got as a child.
