We watched in shock as American's casted their vote. We watched in disbelief as our brothers and sisters across the Atlantic made their choice between gonorrhoea and syphilis because let us not kid ourselves, their choice was between two evils.
On the day of the election I ran off to my secret hide away, off the grid and far away from the hype. I did not invest any emotion in the outcome of the elections but I must admit I was shocked by the result. I never expected Trump to win. But he did, so what!
In my secret hide away nobody cared about the election. They did not even know they were taking place, "America What elections " "Who " I like that about rural Africa, it's consequential, real and profound. No BS here, just focus on the things that matter.
While loafing around under a magnificent palm tree, staring into my useless cell phone, I could not help reflecting on how the American election had so little impact on most of our lives. In the great scheme of things, Trump has bigger fish to fry than to worry about the outer most tip of the African continent.
I am grateful for not getting drawn into the debate of who is worthy of the throne in America. Having long ago lost my complete respect for Hillary, when I watched her lose her cool with a journalist in Kenya, I knew she was bad news. Couldn't stand her ranting and raving and demoralizing. At least Trump was funnylike stupid funny, but he made me laugh.
The face of politics has always been absurd and not available for viewing to the average Joe. The real decision makers and world leaders are not even on the radar. We will never see their faces or know their names. We are meant to be kept dumb and ignorant and not ask too many questions.
I am happy to leave the politics to someone else. I have enough on my plate as it is and while Trump backs down on all his threats and intimidations, I am going to continue to do my thing and nothing about politics will raise my blood pressure.
Lets be honest, whether you're in Africa, America or Asia, it doesn't matter who you voted for, the higher powers have taken care of the final vote. The system is rigged, corrupt, and simply an illusion.
So have patience and watch the game being played out without identifying with the situation.Conserve your energies for what is to come. The game has just begun.
Some valued advise from Trump. 'You know, it really doesn't matter what they write as long as you've got a young and beautiful piece of ass. But she's got to be young and beautiful.'- Comments made by Donald to Esquire in 1991.
