The continuous stream of reports of crazy people murdering innocents with gusto and enthusiasm, in the hope that it will further their political gain or maybe even restore their mental state to a condition of something resembling sanity, is slowly numbing my resolve to remain a member of the human race.
Maybe it is the American influence, their over the top crazy electioneering has reduced my resistance to bullshit, worn it down to a mere shadow of its former glorious self. The latest cods waddle attempt at smearing the Russians with the blame for the DNC email leaks that prove that hilarious Hilary and her "buddies" colluded to move, what was in my opinion the most eligible candidate for the presidency of the United States of America, uncle Bernie Sanders, out the way so that she could steam roll ahead and take the presidency.
Well, we think we've got problems, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov was using all the restraint he had not to use four letter words when asked by an American journalist whether the Russians were behind the leaked emails. Orange Donald was quoted as saying "I mean this is time and time again, lie after lie. You notice he [Mook] won't say, 'Well, I say this.' We hear 'experts'. His house cat at home once said this is what's happening with the Russians. It's disgusting. It's so phony," it's so funny. LOL.
Back home it is no laughing matter. Over a dozen people have lost their lives in political assassinations leading up to the local elections. Is this really who we are as a Nation? What can we expect when the General Elections hit the ground?
Oh my, oh my, and the truth seeps out of the tightly bound files that record our history. George Orwell wrote of totalitarian governments "He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past." Stephen Ellis wrote a nerve twitching report about the ANC and its claims to legitimacy. My stomach wretches empty of bile at the divisive political rhetoric that is being spewed forth from almost every sector of our political landscape. Where is the leader who will unite us as the great nation we have already proven we are? Who will stand up and embrace all regardless of their class, race, religion or political party? Do we not deserve the bounty that a nation united in one voice and one mission can achieve? Must we endure the back stabbing, self serving, aggrandising leadership that Africa has become so famous for? Will we get a "Life President"?
And then there is the disgusting spectacle of an 84-year-old Priest, his throat slit in his own Church, all for political gain. Is this the human race? Is this what we have succumbed to? How low can we go?
