Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes

Date: 2014-09-26
It was a week filled with glamorous events and beautiful people. Something tells me that we are getting closer and closer to the Festive Season and with less than ninety days to Christmas the social roster is filling up fastbut its what you can expect at this time of the year.

I say it often and I never tire of saying it, 'I have the best job in the world'. Not only do I get to do really exciting events and functions and launches and and andbut most importantly I get to meet astounding people. People who have marvellous stories to tell and are not afraid to tell them.

This week I had a pleasure of meeting Anandh Ramdhin, who has a compelling story about faith and financial abundance. He is our "People of the North" this week. Anandh managed to genuinely transform my thoughts and gave me a clear perspective on what's important in life.

But the man who totally stole my heart this week was Mr Ashok Sewnarain. His Million Rand Supercar Charity Parade was a total success and Mr Sewnarain has done it again he made a difference in so many people's lives.

Those that know Mr Sewnarain all agree that he is a man of his word and honour. There is a sense of belonging when you get to know him and one of Mr Sewnarain's main objectives is to share everything he knows with people who are willing to learn.

Mr Sewnarain managed to gather two hundred supercar owners and got them to give their Sunday to a group of orphans. Two hundred children received the ride of their lives in these fantastic machines.

I walked around the revving up supercars, goose bumps everywhere, and I must admit that I could not help the tears pouring down my cheeks. I could see that this event meant something special not just to the children who have so little but it was a big deal to the supercar owners who have so much.

I tried speaking to a few orphans but they were somewhat shell shocked and speechless and the only comment I could get out of the ones I spoke to were muffled by enormous magic grins.

On the other hand speaking to some of the drivers, everyone had just one thing on their mind, "This is only possible because of the vision of Ashok Sewnarain, he has made this happen and made everyone aware that sharing is caring and it feels so right to give. "

Over the years Mr Sewnarain has been an important mentor to me. He pushed me to do more and be more. At his recently launched 'Millionaire Minds' Seminar, which took place in The Pavilion Hotel in Durban, Mr Sewnarain invited a panel of speakers, who were all successful entrepreneurs and put them in a room filled with start up business people.

Listening to these truly accomplished individuals sharing their success stories was inspirational. Speakers shared their recipe for triumph. Each gave advice and motivations and with every speaker we were so much closer to our own millions, even if only in our ingenuity.

But there was one singular epiphany moment for me during the seminar and that was Mr. Sewnarain saying to all of us, "There is nothing stopping you in achieving your dreams and I want to help you get there."

I mean who does that? And how many self made, successful individuals care? Mr. Sewnarain genuinely cares! What a man.
