What's the issue?

What's the issue?

Time is flying so fast and the heat is building up and no one is feeling the heat more than the ruling party, except maybe the whining Oscar. Does it really matter who was behind the door?

With the elections creeping closer and closer we might want to start learning how to pronounce Mmusi Maimane.

NUMSA is warning the re-instated Vavi not to campaign for the ANC, and Ronnie Kasrils has joined forces with deputy health minister Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge in a bid to encourage voters to spoil their vote. If they were honest with themselves and put South Africa first, they would encourage every voter to cast a vote, just cast it in favour of a party that has a good reputation when it comes to the issues of corruption and governance. Encouraging people to throw away their vote is so disrespectful to all those people who gave their lives in the struggle this country went through trying to rid itself of exactly this problem.

The SABC seems to have regurgitated its old apartheid ways when it banned the DA advert, the Madam is as mad as a snake and so she should be.

There was a glimmer of hope for my faith in the ANC when I heard stories of the ANC elders and an Integrity Committee, however at this stage it may just be damage control and the age old cliché of too little too late might just come into play. Sad, but hopefully not true.

Elsewhere in the world there is also trouble, fires are raging through Chile, as if they haven't had it bad enough with the earth shaking beneath their feet and then there is the looming catastrophe of the Ukraine. Resistance to the Russian resurgence, because that is what it is, many see the Ukraine Government and its officials as a puppet show with the strings being pulled by the West.

Oh the West, the big bad ugly West. Give a dog a bad name and it sticks. But then if the dog goes around bighting people, should it not have a bad name. Lets see. What good exactly did the West do in Iraq? Libya? Iran? The Middle East? Wait, lets see, can we include Sudan? Maybe Nigeria? Where did these heroes of the world actually bring good to the people for the people. I'm not talking about the people of America or England or France or Germany. I'm talking about the people of Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, Haiti, Kuwait, Panama, Grenada, Dominican Republic, Cuba and even Japan. All of these countries were invaded by America and few of them shared a border with the US. The only one with an economy and lifestyle we could envy being Japan.

Well it is Easter now. I know we should concentrate on the resurrection of Christ but let us not forget his mistrial and subsequent murder by the authorities of the day. Many blame the Jews, but it might just have been the Romans.

In any event it seems an appropriate time for us all to pray for sanity to prevail amongst our leaders and ourselves. Peace be with you and your family this Easter, regardless of your religious commitment.
