Through My Eyes

Through My Eyes

Author: Kasia Yoko
Date: 2014-04-18
For the first time in twenty years a stomach bug kept me incapacitated, it was wore than childbirth.

On a happier note it gave me an opportunity to follow the Oscar Pistorius trial on Channel 199.

It was so sad to watch and listen to Oscars' testimony. It really showed a side of Oscar that I never expected, the arrogantand cocky often smirking - so sure of himself - so prepared and calculated. At times it felt scripted.

The emotional act, the tears and breaking down into uncontrollable wailing was interesting to watch, as it appeared to be rehearsed and seemed like he had lots of practice.

When asked by the prosecutor Gerrie Nel why he is getting so emotional he told the court he got like this because he was fighting for his life.

For those who follow the trail, Oscar is putting on a stellar performance, one worthy of an Oscar but as we all know he is not fighting for his life he's just fighting not to spend the nice chunk of his best years in jail.

I have never been to court and I like it that way. I have I never had to stand in front of a judge to explain my actions. The Oscar Pistorius trail has put me off crime for life, because as much as I am an assertive and fairly intelligent individual, I would crumble in a matter of minutes under Gerrie Nel's cross-examination.

Oscar's version of the events that happened on that fateful night when he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp through the bathroom door is so improbable that it can't be reasonably possible.

He admits that he does not remember very important aspects of what happened but keeps correcting Nel on tiny details.

One minute he is teary and vulnerable and the next minute he is arguing something, which seems so irrelevant and dismal.

But there is a world of God-fearing, Oscar supporters out there who believe in his innocence, go and check out http://supportforoscar.wordpress.com/. Hundreds if not thousands of letters posted in support of what he has done, messages like;

"Forgiveness is the final form of love, Oscar. You have to set her free." Carly

"Just keep your feet on the ground and lift your head up into the sky, our Father in Heaven will guide you, bless you, care for you & will be with you always!! My heart goes out to you & I believe in you!! Stay strong son!!!!!"Rhoda Botha

"You will always be my Hero. So after this court case it is your obligation to be a Hero for so many people around the world again. Love you man" Peter Ferreira

"God you are a Great God please take care of Oscar today in Jesus Name, let no one get to him except you God. Thank you God. Amen." Fransie

So I guess in the eyes of all these Oscar supporters he is ok. Forgiven! SortedIf Oscar is going to have faith this is the time to put his full trust in God because in the end it will be his faith that will see him through this. Whatever happens I know that the truth will prevail

On a more personal notedo not ignore this new stomach virus, treat it as soon as you start feeling nauseous, the sooner you treat it the less likely it will develop into the monster I am dealing with at the moment. Stay well and enjoy the rest of the week.
