One good thing that has come out of this week's news is the delayed response from the Oh bomber regime as they finally quietly suspended military aid to Egypt and mumbled the word "coup" once or twice. What more does he need, eight hundred dead not enough for you Mr. President? Don't worry the army is just mowing down the violent protestors like they are so much grass in an overgrown field.
I saw a lovely poster this week, it read "The power of the people is more powerful than the people in power!" I just think the power of the people desperately needs direction and leadership.
Good news came out of my hometown Sandton this week as the BRICS council met in a decisive event. They were unanimous in their decision that the development of the African continent will go ahead. Fantastic news as the western world keeps on at its exploitative take, take and take relationship that has been going on, on the continent, for so many generations.
Talk of the Cape to Cairo corridor may make some people nervouse, considering what is going on in Cairo at the moment, but I'm sure that by the time we get that corridor paved, they will have sorted out the meaning of the word coup and its interpretation by the Weird Weird West with all their handouts.
The Weird Weird West also maintained that they will continue to hold onto their sanctions against Zimbabwe even in the light of calls to the contrary from none other than the Southern African Development Community, who expressed their satisfaction that the Zimbabwe elections were free and fair. OK, yea, sure why not. Free and fair. Yes, oh yes, yea baby! Well the Weird Weird West will only lift their sanctions when they see some significant peaceful reforms. Guess it is going to be a long wait then.
More election news comes from our mutual neighbours Mozambique with the government saying that they will continue with the planned elections for later this year, whether the leading opposition Renamo group participates or not. Well if it is anything like the Zim elections, they don't need an opposition party for a landslide victory. Africa, I love it!
