I also pray for all South Africans as we are about to be descended upon by one of the weirdest leaders the world has ever seen, brace yourselves for the imminent arrival of Obama drama. I just hope no one peeves him off, you know how accurate those drones he has are.
If Obama does come to South Africa he might just end up in the kak, as the ANC Youth league continue to spread their faeces all over Cape Town, one of their more recent poo deliveries being Cape Town International Airport. This is a most disgusting effort at undermining the only municipality in the country that seams to be making any headway, and even more disgusting that it seems to be being done along racial grounds, he political grounds don't justify it either. Surely their efforts would be better put to a more positive endeavour.
Anyway one visitor we more than likely wont see at Cape Town International Airport is Edward Snowden, the international whistle blowing hero. Snowden has shown that secrets can often lead to the abuse of power and the law, and then there's Russ Tice, another whistle blowing hero who is getting squashed by mainstream media as he too tries to expose the wicked ways of the spy culture that some governments are adopting.
Well Putin is really getting up the Yanks noses telling them that Snowden is welcome to cruise around Russia to his hearts content. They're pulling all the strings they can to get him back States side so the can Guantanamo his ass. I say this knowing full well that all my communications are prone to being read by some government official or another, private or not.
But wow, Snowden really stuck it to the NSA just when they were doing the 'vinger wys' to the Chinese. Well that blew up in their faces. I say power to the people, there are some governments around the world, like Brazil, who are quickly learning that they can no longer treat their citizens like play dough. Still Syria pops up and I cringe.
Coming back home I see that Judge President John Hlophe will face a tribunal in September in connection with the allegations of gross misconduct. What is happening with our judges?
Our Unions are really helping a lot though, AMCU want to sommer double the wages of entry level unskilled labour at gold mines, a wonderful element of leverage for them and for anyone who wants to undermine the value of gold and in so doing the value of the Rand and in so doing make the lives of the very poor that much more miserable than it already is.
Lonmin is on the brink of another strike and the Rand is in free fall Happy winter everybody.
