Well didn't we hear it all when they were building the Moses Mabhida stadium, and is it not fantastic how quiet the Durban ratepayer is about having to foot the bill for those millions. I may be speaking out of turn here because I have not even tried to find out how much the stadium cost the city to build, how much it costs per month to run and how much money it generates towards the now rather empty coffers of the eThekweni Municipality.
The name Mike Sutcliff pops into my head for some reason, and then the mirth beging bubbling in my belly as I think of the email I received from Snowy Smith, citing some documentation that Mike Bloxham has compiled in their R4,5 Billion law suit that they are apparently bringing against Mike Sutcliff. But that has nothing to do with the stadium? You might as a statement. It does however have a lot to do with how our elected leadership has the power to spend tax Rands at their discretion. The millions spent on sporting events and even the millions spent on space exploration, does seem to have a moral question hanging over its justification. If there are aids orphans living in teenage headed households, suffering from a level of poverty that would make your eyes water if you had to endure it for just five hours.
Well thase Brazillians are not lying down and just watching the corrupt leaders spend their tax Dollars willy-nilly, no! They are burning the streets and rioting like crazy. But hey, we do things different here in S.A.
Now that Julius has foretold the downfall of the ANC, by their foolishness according to his enlightened discourse, I still don't know how they tolerate his utterances, it is mind-boggling. Anyway we can probably look forward to Julius getting his own political party together and taking over from Jacob Zuma in the not too distant future, him being so politically astute and all you know.
While that is happening we can all rest assured that once Julius is our president we wont have things like the R6 million kick back that Tony got form the arms company or the ridiculous spending of tax Rands for things like sports stadiums when there is a severe housing shortage, now way. Julius will surely not be foolish like he implies the ANC is. Not Julius. He will be smart and get the education system jacked up and we will spend on roads, dams, railway lines and not be foolish, ever.
