What's the issue?

What's the issue?

I must admit I feel a little violated by our new King and Queen Gupta. Why not let them come home and take my quality Lurpak butter from my fridge as well as deprive me of the police services they used to ferry their guests to a wedding.

But I should not complain, Jacob owns it all, lauding it over us mere citizens like we were his playthings. On that note I must say that I can't be half as pissed off as Mandela looked when Jacob used him as his prop. Wow he did not look happy at all. But there is a clear illustration of just how our president has elevated himself beyond just the highest office in the land. He is willing to abuse his power for something as trivial as some celebrity wedding. But he's not alone, it has been alleged that the SANDF did produce documentation allowing our new royal family, the Guptas, to land at Waterkloof. So being president of South Africa means you get to use the army, the police, the air force and all the financial reserves of the country as if they were your own. I think I once said that I would not like to be the president, I take that back. It must be such a joll. Please understand that this is not an attack on the ANC, just a flabbergasted reproach on the man they chose as our leader. How much longer can this go on before he is impeached?

The Secrecy bill is looming closer and closer and when it gets here we will not hear a word about these fantastic stories, unless some journalists don't mind being stuck in jail for revealing the shenanigans of our totally corrupt political condition.

Anyway this storm is a teacup will blow over as soon as Jacob pulls his next trick out of his sleeve. Why the term storm in a teacup? Well you just have to look at the Middle East and Zuma's antics pale into insignificance. Israel flexed its muscles with an airstrike against Syria, Russia sat up and took notice and the USA? Well the USA led a 41-nation war game in the Hormuz straights, the same straights through which forty per cent of the world's oil is transported. Obama's office said that these military manoeuvres were not a threat to Iran or Syria, but an attempt to secure the trade rout. OK.

As Russia and the US flex their muscles over Syria, I'm sure there are some weapons manufacturers eagerly urging them on, just think how much money the impending war in the Middle East will need. How much funding will be needed to rebuild the shattered countries, how many pints of blood the dying women and children will need to save them from the clutches of the grim reaper. From this perspective it is almost understandable that they want this war. Collateral damage, such an obsequious term, so easy to digest.
