What's the issue?

What's the issue?

Well as the Bob Dylan song goes, "I aint gonna work on Maggies farm no more". The death of the Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher stirred up mixed feelings of anger hatred and resentment as well as a touch of nostalgia and admiration. It was interesting to see how varied the reaction to her passing was.

Now Maggie was not a warmonger, she did however have her little war with the Falkland Islands and it was almost very embarrassing for her. Speaking of warmongers, lets look at young Kim Jong-un. I can't help thinking of the term 'young un' every time his name comes up. He is such a 'young un' in any event. Never the less I certainly don't want to upset him, his missile range might be too short to reach my home in Ballito, but I know how he feels about the Americans and I just don't want to be bundled in with his sentiments towards them. The guy is just so volatile. North Korea has now warned all foreigners to leave the peninsula as war is imminent and they don't want any foreigners to get injured when war breaks out. How considerate of him.

Talking of warmongers, Tony Blair is hearing calls for him to be brought before a court under charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity for his part in the Iraq invasion. Ten years down the line and the country is still in total chaos and constant danger.

So that brings us to our warmonger at home and Jacob Zuma can wear that blue beret. The Mail and Guardian reported that Jacob deployed the troops to the CAR to protect business interests that are allegedly connected to the ANC. All the troops have now returned but we are deploying more troops to the DRC for peace keeping and stabilising in conjunction with a UN mission. This is a totally separate mission to the CAR efforts.

In any event our own Iron Lady, Helen Zille needs to stop fighting with her garden boy Joe, hand out the Lotto millions and start doing what Maggie did in England. Snatch back the economy from the labour unions and get the economy breathing again. Personally I don't think she has the balls for it. Oops I mean the guts for it, oops no not that either. Hell we really do need a Maggie Thatcher here in S.A. and there is only Helen. So come on Helen, steel yourself for the next election, but make it quick because if Nceba Faku could have his way he would send all the black South Africans who voted for the DA overseas or drive them into the sea. This is what he is alleged to have said. This came out of a politician's mouth and he still holds office. Boy oh boy, I think we need more than an iron lady, we need a tungsten superhuman to get over the hurdles that have been put in our path. Pray for peace people, pray hard.
