Well Emmerson went and did a Bob, at least everybody thinks as much, as does Nelson. Bob was still firmly in the picture, amazing that he was still relevant, refusing to vote for the very party he built and used to destroy the country of Zimbabwe. Amazing how he got so far before they managed to get rid of him.
Emmerson seems to have managed to get all the Zimbabweans to forget the ways in which he aided and abetted Bob, but he doesn't seem to have forgotten his evil methods at all. I feel for the Zimbabwean people, we're almost in the same boat as them, not quite, but almost.
Well here we are in Africa and Julius Malema went ballistic, literally, at an EFF event in Cape Town, when he discharged an automatic weapon, thought to be an AK47, into the air, in the presence of a crowd, endangering peoples lives and recklessly firing into the air. I mean, those bullets have to come down somewhere, or does he think that they just evaporate
Police spokesperson Brigadier Vish Naidoo has stated that a case has been registered and that the due process of arresting Julius and charging him. But please don't get excited yet, Teflon Julius will probably slip out of this one too.
The State Capture Inquiry is trying to get ahead with the mammoth task of uncovering how badly we were captured. Not sure if the past tense is the correct tense to use here, however the enquiry itself just discovered that it is about to face a bill of five million Rands for security equipment needed for the enquiry. This is allegedly being supplied by a company called GTS. GTS is linked to Sondolo and Bosasa, companies that received around two billion Rands in tenders for kitchens and access control in various prisons. The tender process seems to have been bypassed in the deal. I try to smile and shake my head, the shaking of the head is easy, the smiling not so much.
More importantly the world's greatest leader, Donald Dump, which is not saying much for leadership in our world, just instated sweeping sanctions against Iran and also against any country that does business or trade with Iran. The 28 member state of the European Union was referred to as a 'bumbling old fool' in international politics. The companies like Airbus and Total are scrambling away from Iran, and the EU is crumbling under the weight of the realisation that European unity was always a product and an idea of the US and the power they thought they could yield as a unit was only on loan to them from America. All the while Russia was made out to be the divider, but with Trump pulling his support, the EU is nothing much more than a lunch club, rigtingloos is such a prefect Afrikaans word to describe them.
Meanwhile the brilliant Chinese were rubbing their hands with glee as their oil futures contracts started kicking in. China purposefully designed the Yuan Oil Trade to reduce the Dollar's stranglehold on oil trade. Their first trading session brought nearly four billion Dollars worth of trade. Well done Donald.
