The Annual Estee Lauder ladies lunch took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel last Thursday. The event was sold out even before the tickets went on sale and nearly a hundred ladies took time to celebrate the good life, health and friendships while honouring the 25th Anniversary of the Estee Lauder Breast Cancer campaign.
The Estee Lauder Companies's Breast Cancer Campaign was founded in 1992 by the late Evelyn H. Lauder with the launch of the Pink Ribbon, the universal symbol for breast health. Devoted to the mission to defeat breast cancer through education and medical research, and currently active in more than 70 countries, The Breast Cancer Campaign has raised more than $70 million globally to support research, education and medical services; with more than $50 million funding 200 medical research grants through BCRF. In addition to private donations, funds are raised through employee activities and donations, Pink Ribbon Product sales and contributions from many of The Estee Lauder Companies iconic brands.
The ladies of KwaZulu Natal showed support to the Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer Campaign by wearing pink on the day. The Power of Pink Luncheon was a memorable affair with a delightful beetroot starter consisting of beetroot terrine, pickled beetroot squares and beetroot caviar on an herb salad with peppered Melba toast.
The main course was a delicious display of seafood paella topped with a succulent line fish and an orange sabayon. And the star of the "Pink Feast" was the Pink Lemonade Cheesecake with white chocolate and strawberry macaroons, strawberry frangipane and raspberry gel.
